Welcome to my blog; MAINTANING GAIA!
Gaia is a theory devised in the sixties by James Lovelock that describes an idea that the earth’s ecology rests in a balance and is used here as a metaphor for the challenge humans face when trying to co-exist with their environment. The blog aims to explore modern environmentalism, often through photojournalism, and the challenges faced when trying to maintain a stable environment.
I am currently in located in Fiji where I volunteer as a communications officer for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) South Pacific office and my blog will tend to focus on activities here.
Outside submissions are very welcome on this blog. If you have a series of images relating to the blog’s theme please send them in to me accompanied by a short article on the project – I’ll be happy to hear from you.
Matthew
